Privacy Policy

Daily Bard is built to be read, not to watch you. There is no account, no tracking, and no advertising. What you read and write stays on your device.
The short version: Daily Bard does not collect personal information, does not use ad trackers, and does not sell data. We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics service, to count anonymous feature usage - never what you read or write. Your reading history, bookmarks, and margin notes never leave your iPhone or iPad, except in an encrypted device backup you choose to make with Apple.
Who we are
Daily Bard (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is made by Codemad. You can reach us at codemad.edu@gmail.com. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask you to create an account or sign in. We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, or advertising identifiers. The app contains no advertising or attribution SDKs, and no analytics that identify you.
Information stored on your device
Everything the app remembers is stored locally on your device (and shared with the Daily Bard Home Screen widget through a private app group):
- which pages you have seen, and which day you are on;
- the ribbons (bookmarks) you place on leaves;
- any margin notes you write, in your own hand; and
- your notification preference and chosen time.
This information stays on your device. It is never transmitted to us, and we have no server that can read it. If you delete the app, this data is removed with it. If you use iCloud or an encrypted device backup, a copy may be included in that backup under Apple's control and Apple's privacy policy.
Purchases
Daily Bard is free to download, with an optional one-time purchase - the Full Edition. Purchases are handled by Apple's App Store. We never see or receive your payment-card details.
To unlock and restore your purchase across your devices, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives a random, app-generated identifier and the App Store transaction information needed to confirm you own the Full Edition. This identifier is not linked to your name or email, and it is not used for advertising. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for details of their processing.
Notifications
If you allow it, Daily Bard can send you one quiet local notification each morning with the day's line. These notifications are scheduled on your device by iOS; they do not require a server and do not carry the explanation of the passage. You can turn them off at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.
Analytics
The app sends a small number of anonymous signals (for example, that onboarding finished or a page was viewed) to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service based in the EU. Signals carry a one-way-hashed identifier and cannot be tied back to you; they contain no names, no e-mail addresses, and never the text of a passage you read or a margin note you write. TelemetryDeck holds no personal data about you and we see only aggregate counts.
Children
Daily Bard is a general-audience reading app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Because we do not collect or hold your personal information on any server, there is nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf. You are always in control: deleting the app removes the data it stored, and you can manage your purchase through your Apple ID.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and post the new version at this address. Material changes will be reflected in an app update.
